Ground truth recordings of neuronal activity

Ground Truth Datasets Calcium
数据描述

To train a supervised algorithm, Cascade (code repository), which infers spike rates from calcium signals, we have recorded and collected a large database of ground truth recordings. The database consists of 27 single datasets (including the GENIE datasets, some of the Spikefinder datasets, the Allen Institute datasets, and several datasets that we recorded ourselves), covering 7 different brain regions, 8 different calcium indicators, two different species, totalling more than 38 hours of recording. More details about the datasets are available in a Resource Article published with Nature Neuroscience.

Inference of action potentials (‘spikes’) from neuronal calcium signals is complicated by the scarcity of simultaneous measurements of action potentials and calcium signals (‘ground truth’). In this study, we compiled a large, diverse ground truth database from publicly available and newly performed...

Calcium imaging is a central method in neuroscience but it records neuronal activity only indirectly and thereby produces results that are difficult to interpret. Here we evaluate the GCaMP8 calcium indicator variants, together with methods to infer neuronal spiking, and thus interpret GCaMP8 record...
