Search Criteria

The USGS EarthExplorer resource is a geospatial data discovery and search system for locating remote sensing and mapping data by area of interest. It contains searchable reference information such as addresses, place names, GNIS features, countries, states, feature classes and types, coordinates, date ranges, cloud cover filters, and predefined site categories including environmental monitoring networks and calibration/validation sites. Users can define search areas with points, polygons, circles, path/row values, or uploaded files, then refine results by time and location criteria. Its purpose is to help users identify, filter, and access relevant Earth observation and mapping records for analysis, planning, and geographic research.
