The neuromaps toolbox is designed to help researchers make easy, statistically-rigorous comparisons between brain maps or brain annotations. It contains a growing library of brain annotations in their original coordinate space, encompassing data on microstructure, function, electrophysiology, receptors, and more. The dataset also provides robust transformations between standard coordinate spaces including MNI-152, fsaverage, fsLR, and CIVET, alongside integrated spatial null models for statistically assessing correspondences between brain maps. It redistributes previously acquired data and builds on existing tools for volume-to-surface and surface-to-surface transformations, requiring proper attribution of the original data sources when used.
